I graduated from Charlotte Searle Nursing College as a General Nurse 44 years ago. I furthered my studies and became a registered Midwife in 1996. I’ve since gained experience in the following fields: surgical, orthopedic, neuro, thoracic, pediatric, antenatal, immunization chronic care, labour wards, burn units, as well as geriatric. My nursing career was spent at the Provincial Hospital, Uitenhage Hospital, Livingstone Hospital as well as Karstens Primary Healthcare Clinic.

I am currently involved in charity work within my community, and I offer my time to provide bed baths to the elderly in my church.

In my free time I enjoy swimming, camping, hiking and watching rugby, tennis and cricket.

In one instance when I was working at a hospital, I had to assist two clients. It was a bit of a hassle as both clients were on the opposite ends of the hospitals, however, I understood that both required much needed assistance and I used my own initiative to ask assistance from a nurse. Both of my clients were seen to and I even ended up assisting the nurse that helped me with her client. This shows that I am capable and mindful as at the end of the day, all clients were assisted and not left behind.”
