I am a qualified "Health Care Assistant" from the class of 2019. The one-year course entailed theory as well as practical experience in a private hospital and old age home.
In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis and going hiking with my husband. I also love reading, doing crossword puzzles, and studying languages. And I love playing Scrabble to relax at the end of a long day.

In 2004, whilst on a working visa in Nottingham, England, I gained five months work experience at Adbolton Nursing and Residential home. In my youth, I also did volunteer work with the disabled at Protea Sports Club, Retreat.
I have so much respect for the elderly and understand how much courage it takes to get on with life in the face of struggle or disability.
I have recently completed and passed the following courses with excellent results: First Aid Level 1, First Aid Level 3, the Basic Home-Based Care and the Advanced Home-Based Care courses through St Johns.
I know that I want to be involved in care work and to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

I feel most comfortable in general Frail Care, Dementia Care, Palliative Care, Post-Operative Care, Disability Care, Stroke Care, Basic Vital Checks, Pressure Care, Catheter Assistance and Wound Care Monitoring, and Oxygen Therapy Monitoring.”

“I enjoy working with seniors because it brings me joy, knowing the love and care I provide to them, impacts their lives in a positive way, as well as learning from the life experience they share.
